These behaviors aren’t often talked about but can hit hard emotionally/ psychologically. Mean girl behaviors can be difficult to understand and deal with. This behavior doesn’t ‘just’ impact girls, boys ‘feel’ it too and can experience similar types of behaviors with their male friends. Talking about this behavior helps parents understand when it’s occurring. When parents have a better understanding of the behavior they’re able to help their tweens/teens maneuver it which also, fosters support for themselves and their friends.

When you think about the ‘brain’ it takes the actual person out of it. It’s not personal. With this knowledge I can be more empathetic and objective in how I respond to people. This has given me a tool to better understand how others think.
